To make sure you have the right Internet package with the right equipment, technician normally asks 3 main questions when you call for Internet Package inquiries.

You find your current Internet is not working well, you are paying to much for it, or even the customer service is not good. It’s time for you to switch ISP. Before calling them, to save yourself time and help them determine the suitable package for you, you can prepare these questions beforehand:

Question 1: How many people will be using Internet, and how do you use it normally?

The most important question they will ask first and foremost, is to check the way you use Internet. Depends on the number of people using Internet in your house, and depends on the tasks you normally do (work from home, play games, watching Netflix…), technician will have the suitable package for you.

If you just use internet for simple tasks such as going on Facebook, watching some YouTube, and even slightly gaming, you can use this table to determine your internet speed.

Question 2: How big is your house, and how many stories?

It might seem irrelevant, but technician will ask you this to figure out if their modem can have adequate Wifi-coverage for your house. If your house is less than 2000sqft, and have 1 main floor and a basement, then a router can get the job done. If your house has 2 plus stories, or more than 2000sqft, then you might need to use Extender or Mesh Wifi, to pain your house with Wi-Fi.

Question 3: What’s your current speed, and how much you are paying for it?

They want to know if you are satisfied with the current speed, and whether you would like to keep the same speed or increase it. They also want to know how much you are paying for it, so they can find any promotional deal to match the price for you.

Depends on specific needs, ISP might have extra questions for you. However, with these questions, ISP can have enough information to support you and speed up the registration process for you.
